Nation's Governors take strong stand against Association Health Plans FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Small Business Coalition for Equitable Health Insurance (SBCEHI) commends the strengthening of the National Governors Association’s (NGA’s) policy statement opposing Association Health Plans (AHPs) that are exempt from a broad range of state regulations and protections. The policy statement echoes the concerns of SBCEHI, that AHPs would increase health insurance premiums for most small businesses and further undermine equity in the health insurance market. “The Governors know better than anyone what effect AHPs will have in their states,” said National Small Business United President Todd McCracken, “so we take their concerns very seriously and hope that the Congress will, as well.” ### |
