Small Businesses to Oppose Association Health Plan Legislation
With ever-increasing health insurance costs and rising numbers of uninsured, small businesses are clamoring for help. As good as Association Health Plans (AHPs) may sound, they stand to significantly harm the small business health care market, and lead to an additional one million uninsured.

President's State of the Union endorsement of AHPs shortsighted
WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Bush called for Congress to pass Association Health Plan (AHP) legislation in his State of the Union address this evening, calling it a solution for small businesses struggling to provide health insurance to their employees. This legislation would allow national trade associations to sell insurance plans throughout the country without state oversight.

Senate Republican taskforce to deal with nation's uninsured
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, (R-Tenn.) announced last week the formation of a Senate Republican taskforce that will work on the issue of health insurance. Sen. Frist initially announced the formation of a group early in October, but just recently announced the names of Senators appointed to the taskforce.
